Narcan Distribution

Opioid overdose reversal is possible with Narcan (Naloxone). We provide free Narcan Nasal Spray to individuals in the community to help prevent overdose deaths and support those in need.

It is well known that opioid overdoses have occurred at epidemic levels in the United States for years.  

Naloxone is a medicine that rapidly reverses an opioid overdose. Naloxone can quickly restore normal breathing to a person if their breathing has slowed or stopped because of an opioid overdose. 


Overdose Emergency Kits

Both TCHD locations have an Overdose Emergency Kit with free Narcan near the front entrance.

The Taney County Health Department provides FREE Naloxone Nasal Spray (Narcan) to anyone in need. To learn more or pick up Narcan, call 417.334.4544 ext. 594 or visit either of our locations.

Signs of Opioid Overdose

If you witness an overdose, call 911. Under Missouri’s 911 Good Samaritan Law, a person actively seeking emergency medical help for an overdose and the person experiencing the medical emergency are protected form minor drug and alcohol violations.
