Testing & Treatment
TCHD provides confidential testing, diagnosis, and treatment for a range of communicable diseases. Services include screening for infections such as HIV, hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and tuberculosis.
Our team offers counseling, education, and linkage to care to help prevent the spread of illness and support community health. Many services are available at low or no cost. All services are offered at both locations by appointment.
Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI)
STIs can cause serious health issues if left untreated. To prevent the spread of sexually transmitted infections we provide confidential testing and treatment for ages 14 and older.
Note: Parental permission is not required to complete STI testing for teens 13-18 years of age.
We offer tests for:
- Chlamydia
- Gonorrhea
- HIV
- Syphilis
- Trichomoniasis
Please do not urinate for one hour before STI testing.

More About STIsTuberculosis (TB)
Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that mainly affects the lungs, but it can impact other parts of the body as well. Symptoms of active TB include a persistent cough (with or without blood), chest pain, fatigue, weight loss, fever, and night sweats.
Latent TB means that TB bacteria are inside the body, but are inactive, so the person has no symptoms and cannot spread the bacteria. While not contagious, latent TB can become active and cause illness in the future.
Our clinic offers a variety of tests to help detect and manage TB:
- TB Skin Tests: TB skin tests can be a one or 2-step test and require two or three visits. During the first visit, a small amount of fluid is injected into your forearm. On the second and third visits, your skin’s reaction to the injection will be assessed. (TB tests are not offered on Thursdays or during holidays).
- 2-Step TB Skin Test: This service is for those who need additional testing.
- QuantiFERON Gold Blood Test (Q Gold): To complete a Q Gold TB Test, a blood sample will be collected and sent to a laboratory for analysis. Q Gold Tests are typically completed for those born outside the U.S., those who received the BCG vaccine, or individuals who need TB testing for work or school.
Tuberculosis is a preventable and treatable infection.
